Paul Klee
Paul Klee was a Swiss-born artist. His work is expressionistic, surrealistic, abstract, and cubic. His early work is more surreal, however during his career he became deeply interested in the study of color and its combination with different forms. This led his later works to be more cubic and abstract, largely focused on the combination of different objects and colors. Klee's career was sparked in 1914, however he became a soldier in World War I in 1916 and, although he continued creating art during his deployment, his career was temporarily stalled. His career then took off in the 1920s and 1930s when he taught at the Bauhaus and wrote many books and lectures concerning art, color, and form.
